Sfiso lives in Vosloorus, a farming community near Heidelberg in South Africa. He is an athletic ten-year-old who enjoys riding his bicycle and playing football with his best friend, Sphelele. His favorite subject at school is reading. To help his mother he likes to chop wood. He cannot bear to see people fighting or unhappy.

 Sfiso hopes that the world will be a better place to live in when he grows up. He dreams of having an interesting and well-paid job in Vosloorus, a beautiful wife and two children. His house will have electricity, running water and modern sanitation, and his family will never need to go hungry. He will be a good citizen and help those who are less fortunate.

To help make Sfiso’s dream come true, the South African government has started an intensive effort aimed at improving the nation’s nutrition and health. The Nutrition Improvement Program of DSM Nutritional Products Ltd is a dedicated partner in this nutrition alliance.
